ANTAGONIST vs PROTAGONIST

The “Antagonist” is the competitor of the “Protagonist”, the strongest and highest rated beer of the Greek untappd list, which we released in 2017. Opposite to the darkness of “Protagonist”, the “Antagonist” is a Blonde New England Barley Wine brewed in collaboration with the Norwegian “Hogna Brygg”. The story of our collaboration begins a couple of months ago when we crossed paths at a homebrew competition in Molde city, west Norway. While invited to taste all the brews of the contestants we were both amazed with an Ale fermented with the traditional Norwegian Kveik yeast. This was the seed of our collaboration. We soon found ourselves back to Crete brewing together a massive Barley wine challenging ourselves and the mastery of the Greek craft beer scene “Protagonist” …

Barley Wines are dangerous beers. Especially this one. Fermented with a wild, Norwegian farmhouse yeast, the Antagonist is light in colour, hazy and extremely elegant in hop aromas and fruitiness. This makes you at easy. And vulnerable. Because as the antagonist shows her real personality, you will be knocked out. Assertive bitterness and high alcohol will ram you. Do not blame us for not warning you !
