NORWAY TAP TAKEOVER TOUR

We are very excited to announce the launch of our brews in Norway ! The place where it all began with that airline pilot who started homebrewing back in the 1990s and then went commercial by starting Nøgne Ø in 2002. Norway’s first modern craft brewery, it was. Nøgne Ø was an interesting journey. We called ourselves uncompromising. An uphill battle, as craft brewing was in it’s infancy. But we made it, expanded and ended up exporting to over 45 countries. But for me it came to an end. I divested in 2013 and quit in 2015. The time had come to do something else. Long story short : I and my wife Cathie bought a vineyard in the beautiful island of Crete with the intention of making orange natural wine. There we teamed up with Nikolas and Kostis and a year after we launched ” Σόλο … your cretan craft beer ” which was initially contract brewed, mostly in Norway. Soon though we established our own craft brewery in Heraklion. We started brewing in 2018 and the response since then has been phenomenal. Meanwhile, over the years, we have been approached by Norwegians if it was possible to buy our beers. Soon we established a cooperation with Fludium https://fludium.no . Fludium is a Norwegian quality focused distributor. Together with we have planned one new brew every month at Arendals Bryggeri. We have already a list of 12 beers to be released in the next 12 months. The first 3 have already been brewed while our classic IPA “Ψακί” is already out there in 330ml cans. For me, it is great to be back in Norway with my beers after several years of a non-compete clause. Thankfully, already before we had published anything on social media about this, craft beer bars started asking for tap takeovers. It was time to talk with Lars and Tellef from Qvart Ølkompani in Kristiansand https://www.qvart.no. Qvart has a smaller brewsystem which is very convenient for small batches so here we are :
